When Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race in July of 2024, we were told that it caught everyone off guard.
It turns out that report was probably a smokescreen to make it appear as though Biden was the one making that decision.
A new book has blown the lid off the process that played out, and I am sure the GOP is going to pounce.
When Biden withdrew from the race, reports surfaced that the announcement caught his staff by surprise.
ABC News, for instance, posted a report that some had no idea about the development even as the letter was being distributed.
That, however, does not mesh with the latest tell-all book about the final days of the Biden administration and the 2024 election.
The new report states that it was Biden's staffers who recruited someone to post Joe’s letter. So if they were caught off guard, how did they go about recruiting someone to made these posts for Joe?
In the new book, 2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America, it is revealed that it was Biden campaign staffers who recruited the individual who posted the presisdent's letter.
His team recruited a "trusted" 24-year-old "social media whiz" who would post the letter to social media for the former president.
The book reported, "Flaherty oversaw the campaign’s digital efforts but did not have access to the social media accounts.
"He never actually posted from them. O’Malley Dillon asked if he had someone he trusted who could hit publish. [Rob] Flaherty did. His name was Parker Butler, a twenty-four-year-old social media whiz. O’Malley Dillon approved, and Flaherty called Butler."
The story only gets worse for Biden, as the book also reported that Joe Biden was using teleprompters in private events, which did not sit well with a lot of people.
The book stated, "For most of the campaign, Biden only ever spoke with the assistance of a teleprompter, even for small private audiences. The presence of the machine made for extremely awkward interactions in intimate settings, and irked donors who had paid thousands of dollars for a personal view of the president, not expecting a canned speech they could see on TV."
It went on, "He once read from a teleprompter in front of thirty people in the open kitchen of a Palo Alto mansion. Donors complained for months about the president’s reliance on the machine. Aides defended the teleprompter as a tool to keep the famously garrulous president on schedule."
Social media whiz kids handling the account, teleprompters needed at smaller events… it just seems like Biden was nothing more than a puppet being given orders at this point. This is all coming out now, so imagine what will come out once Joe Biden passes, when people no longer have to worry about hurting his feelings.
