The Renee Good shooting has died down, so Democrats needed a new narrative to go after ICE in Minnesota.
The latest story is that agents detained a 5-year-old child, only some key context is missing from the story being widely told.
Well, Vice President Vance not only supplied that context, but he did it right to the media, calling out the bogus narrative being pushed.
The way Democrats are telling the story, the child might as well have been a fishing lure used to land a bigmouth bass in a fishing tournament.
Rep. Angie Craigh (D-MN) posted to X that this was the “worst of the damn worst.”
She continued, “This is a time where we should all be outraged. If this doesn’t pierce through your humanity, as a Republican member of Congress, if you can’t speak out about this, then you’ve got no humanity left.”
The narrative was that ICE had detained the boy, then used him as bait to get his father. This is what Dems are pushing to try to defund ICE.
ICE tells a bit of a different story, saying that the father, in his effort to escape, abandoned the young boy.
An ICE agent then stayed with the boy while agents pursued his father, who was reportedly an “illegal alien from Ecuador.”
This all got started after Zena Stenvik, the superintendent of Columbia Heights Public Schools, claimed ICE detained the boy when he came back to school with his father, and another adult in the household “begged the agents to let him take care of the small child and was refused.”
She then claimed that an agent had taken “the child out of the still-running car, led him to the door and directed him to knock on the door asking to be let in in order to see if anyone else was home, essentially using a 5-year-old as bait.”
The vice president went to Minnesota this week to try to get tensions dialed down a bit, and he was asked about the incident by a reporter, who framed the question using the Democrat talking points.
Vance said he was initially horrified that ICE had done such a thing, but upon following up, he got more details, explaining, “So, the story is that ICE detained a five-year-old. Well, what are they supposed to do? Are they supposed to let a five-year-old child freeze to death? Are they not supposed to arrest an illegal alien in the United States of America?
“If the argument is that you can’t arrest people who have violated laws because they have children then every single parent is going to be completely given immunity from ever being the subject of law enforcement. That doesn’t make any sense.”
Every administration, including this one, offers illegals the option to be removed with their children, or they can leave their child in the care of someone who is in the country legally. This was never a problem when Obama was in office, and the media ignored the Biden administration losing track of tens of thousands of children. Yet, now, the media and Democrats are spinning a story to give the worst possible look. It is a complete and utter disgrace.
