Trump vows to stop Mamdani from destroying NYC

Last week, the entire country was stunned to see Democrat establishment golden boy, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo, lose the New York City Democratic Party mayoral primary to Zohran Mamdani, a democratic socialist.

Mamdani’s agenda is now coming to light, such as a slew of “freebies” and citywide communes.

President Donald Trump is vowing to take him on, saying there is no way he will allow Mamdani to “destroy” New York City.

One big happy family

I was among those who thought there was no way that even a city like New York would allow a socialist to take over as mayor, but we were wrong, so now we are doing a lot more digging into Mamdani.

One of the programs he wants to put in play is to have the city buy up homes for sale to create communes.

In a video from 2021, Mamdani stated, "Why do so many people end up homeless? It's not because there aren't enough homes to go around, there are plenty of empty homes. No. It's because housing people is not a primary goal of developers or landlords. Their goal, simply put, is to make a profit."

He continued, "[It's] not efficient or beneficial for the rest of society. Housing doesn't have to be seen as a market at all."

His plan is to buy houses as they come up for sale, then develop these massive communes around the city. While communes are not solely equated to communism, they are a key element of it, and when you are talking about the city taking this project on, well, yes, that sounds like he wants to create a communist state within New York City.

Working the system

Mamdani has also apparently worked the system when it benefited him, with a report blowing up on Wednesday regarding his admission application to Columbia University, in which he identified as Black and Asian.

At the time, Columbia was using race-conscious admissions processes, which have since been outlawed by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Mamdani explained, "Even though these boxes are constraining. I wanted my college application to reflect who I was."

He says that, yet he recently admitted that other than those forms, he has never identified as Black or African American. That, my friends, is what they call a fraud.

Not on my watch!

Trump has been attacking Mamdani since the primary race was called in his favor, recently stating, “In New York, they’re trying to elect a communist. The guy who wants to defund the police, take over the stores and run the stores, and have the people hand out goods.”

The president continued, “This guy is a communist at the highest level, and he wants to destroy New York. I love New York and we’re not gonna let him do that.”

This is something I really struggle with because part of me wants to see Mamdani elected and turn that city into a pit, making those who vote for him suffer the consequences of their action. On the other hand, do we really allow this philosophy to even have a chance to gain a foothold in a major city like New York? What is the butterfly effect of allowing something like that to happen?

Ultimately, it will be the voters of New York who choose, and the alternatives are two corrupt officials, so my hopes are not high. I am a Texan, so this is not my fight, but the results of this fight will eventually branch out, and that is what concerns me.
