Trump's approval climbs to 54% following Putin summit

President Donald Trump’s approval rating just rocketed to a stunning 54% after his high-stakes sit-down with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Hot on the heels of their Alaska summit last Friday, a fresh InsiderAdvantage survey conducted over the weekend reveals a significant bump in public support for Trump across a wide swath of American voters.

Let’s unpack this: Trump’s numbers are up from a previous 50% approval in July, when disapproval sat at 48%, giving him a modest +2 net rating.

Post-summit surge shocks political pundits

Now, post-summit, disapproval has dipped to 44%, pushing his net approval to a robust +10.

That’s not just a nudge—it’s a leap, showing that whatever transpired in Alaska seems to have struck a chord with the public.

“Great progress,” Trump declared about the meeting, and apparently, many voters agree, even if the details of the discussion remain under wraps.

Demographic rbeakdown reveals broad support

Drill into the demographics, and the picture gets even more intriguing—Trump’s winning over nearly every age group, except the oldest voters who still aren’t sold.

“Only the nation’s oldest voters disapprove of his job performance, which is consistent with our prior surveys,” noted pollster Matt Towery on Monday.

Well, perhaps the seniors are just harder to impress, or maybe they’ve seen one too many summits to get excited—but for everyone else, Trump’s charm seems to be working overtime.

Trump gains ground across racial lines

Among racial groups, Trump’s approval stands at 23.7% with Black voters, a notable figure for a Republican, and a strong 47.2% among Hispanic voters.

With white voters, he’s hitting a near-record high of 64%, showing a solid base that’s clearly energized by his latest diplomatic move.

“Overall, his approval numbers are surging upwards post-summit,” Towery added, and the data backs that up with undeniable clarity.

Political affiliations show surprising shifts

Even across political lines, the numbers are telling—92% of Republicans approve, no surprise there, but over half of independents at 50.4% are giving a thumbs-up too.

More eyebrow-raising is the 17.9% of Democrats who approve, suggesting that even some on the left might be grudgingly nodding at Trump’s performance after this summit.

And while Putin’s comment, “His war with Ukraine would have never begun if Trump were president in 2022 instead of Joe Biden,” might raise hackles among progressive critics, it’s clear the summit has shifted perceptions in Trump’s favor—at least for now.
