Rioters in Portland target officers with fireworks and explosives

We continue to see anti-ICE riots breaking out across the country, but right now, Portland, Oregon, and Los Angeles, California, are the major hotspots.

Reports have been breaking that rioters have upped their game, now looking to use fireworks to assault officers.

In Portland, reports just surfaced that hundreds of rioters were launching fireworks and explosives at officers.

Charged

Earlier this week, a report broke that a Texas man had purchased fireworks and explosives in New Mexico, with a plan to head to L.A. to attack officers with his new bounty.

The man, Grzegorz Vandenberg, 48, had told workers at the store in New Mexico that he was ex-special forces and knew how to make pipe bombs.

Authorities were alerted, and Vandenberg was tracked down.

The release outlining his arrest explained, "He told store employees that he was prior special forces military and claimed he could make pipe bombs. Vandenberg further stated that he was traveling to Los Angeles, California, for the riots, with the intent to kill law enforcement officers or government officials."

Not playing games

After his arrest, Attorney General Pam Bondi made it crystal clear that attacks against our peace officers would not be tolerated at any level.

She stated, "This man allegedly intended to use the chaotic riots in Los Angeles as an opportunity to commit deadly violence against law enforcement officers."

Bondi added, "Threats like these strike at the heart of law and order -- we will not hesitate to bring federal charges against anyone who seeks to harm law enforcement or endanger the safety of our communities."

If convicted, Vandenberg could be sentenced to as much as 10 years in prison.

Here we go again

Bad actors were not deterred by the Vandenberg arrest, as it is now being reported that on Wednesday night, hundreds of rioters in Portland attacked officers with fireworks and explosives.

The Department of Homeland Security stated, “Last night, Portland rioters violently targeted federal law enforcement— 250 rioters launched fireworks, shined lasers in officers’ eyes to temporarily blind them, and stormed an ICE field office. Ultimately, five individuals were arrested on various charges including assault on federal law enforcement.”

The statement added, “We won’t sit idly by and watch these cowards. Our officers are facing a 413% increase in assaults against them as they put their lives on the line to arrest murderers, rapists, and gang members. Secretary Noem’s message to the rioters is clear: you will not stop us or slow us down. ICE and our federal law enforcement partners will continue to enforce the law. And if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

I have zero problem with people protesting, but there are limits to my patience. No violence, no looting, and no blocking highways. The tolerance by Democrats, in my opinion, has empowered these people to get more daring, now to the point they think assaulting police officers with fireworks is okay. And they wonder why Trump wants to call in the National Guard.
